Nor'easter
A powerful Nor'easter moved into the Northeast yesterday, and is still raging this morning. We lost power for a few hours last night. I have a sliding glass door facing a pond. The tops of the trees between my
house and the pond are all swaying wildly. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches us that when
we are carried away by emotions--such as grief for me this week--we can look at
the example of the trees. Although their upper branches are carried away by the
winds, their trunks remain solid and well rooted. If we return to our own
trunks, breathe deeply, and find our inner calm, we can weather any storm.
